You can now play classic Sonic and Phantasy Star II for free with SEGA Forever
If the release of the Nokia 3310 wasn't enough to make you hark bark to the simpler times of your youth, SEGA is bringing its classic video games to your mobile. Even better, the collection is free.

Called SEGA Forever, the catalogue is launching with Sonic and Phantasy Star II, and more games will be added in the coming months and years. Each is free to download (the games are supported by ads) and can be played offline, but going online means you can save games in the cloud and see how rank among other players on official leaderboards.
It's also possible to pay $1.99/£2.99 for each game if you want to get rid of ads, but this is optional.
“Above all else, SEGA Forever is a celebration of nostalgia. It’s about allowing fans to reconnect with past experiences and share them with family and friends in an accessible and convenient way,” said Mike Evans, CMO of SEGA’s Mobile Division. “SEGA Forever democratises retro gaming, and seeks to change how the world plays, rediscovers, and shares in classic game experiences.”
The first batch of SEGA Forever games includes big hits and fan favourites with five Mega Drive/SEGA Genesis titles. The download links for the Google Play Store and Apple App Store are in the list below.
Following today's launch, the SEGA Forever collection will add new releases every two weeks. These will be announced on the SEGA Forever website and on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
